Lorcana Play Buddy

Introduction: How it came to be

I started playing Lorcana during set 1 but even then I was not very invested in it. I came to be more interested in it during the end of set 2. By that time getting cards from set 1 was a pain and the good cards were and still are expensive. 

 

During set 3 I invested a lot of time and money into getting more stuffs and started to enjoy the competitive side of Lorcana. At that time we had a un-Official online client (Pixeborn) which allowed you to, very fast, test ideas which then you could take to on-paper tournaments.

Sadly, before set 4 hit, there was an announcement that the online client would need to shut down because of legal issues. I honestly thought I would quit the game given I have a hard time getting to my LGFS so it would be hard to keep up with practicing for tournaments.

Some time after the shutting down of the online client, the creator of the now gone Pixelborn client decided to make a new client called Pixelborn connect which would allow you to play games using your web camera. 

Initially I was not too hyped about it but having a camera to test at home I decided to give it a try. I have to say the experience was not as good or dynamic as the old client but the new client also comes with benefits of its own. Having to talk to someone during your game makes the experience more enjoyable I think (I have to say honestly I played against 2 people only so maybe I have not met anybody that was not nice to play against).

 

Anyway after having this experience I noticed that I wanted to have it more consistently and maybe play different decks instead of the ones I'm practicing. Also considering my gaming times are limited I would need to set realistic objectives for my future tournaments. To add more stuffs I noticed a lot of people want to play test their ideas and it would be nice to help all of those players.

 

Having this sea of thoughts in my head, that's how I came with this idea. I would like to be like the go to person people who don't have anybody to practice so here is how Lorcana Play Buddy will start:

1. I will be available to play with using Pixelborn connect during the yet to be announced times
2. During those times I will create a custom game with a random but known name.
   
3. You can join the game introduce yourself and tell me what you want to play against.
4. I will have a variety of 1 theme deck but also at least 2 meta decks. So you can choose to play casual or meta.

Special Notes:

1. I would like to say that I'm from the competitive players. But the truth is that I'm at best mediocre so there is a high chance I might missplay. 
2. I don't own everything so I might proxy cards (play a Julieta but in fact its rapunzel gifted with healing)
   
   

So how this would work in practice?

1. I will make the announcement in discord.
2. If you want to test the experience, you will go to Pixelborn and log to the mentioned custom game in the description.
3. You will pick if you want to play against:
1. My current deck I'm practicing for my next tournament
2. Some other random meta deck
3. My theme deck
4. [There will be a possibility to pick decks but not yet]
4. We play a best of 3 or just a match depending on your preferene
5. We say good bye and then maybe I'll ask you to fill in a survey. With my survey I will get feedback on how good / bad the experience was.
